it's true, though, I am disowned.

fob- Pete Wentz and his Fall Out Boys
Oh, look at this old comment I made back in 2007:

Well, hmmm. For the past few months/years, I've been seeing Pete Wentz around and going, god, what a douchebag. I really don't want to like him. (Especially since I have extreme dislike for Ashlee Simpson, but that's beside the point, because it has nothing to do with Pete.) But lately, I've been seeing him on interviews and things and finding myself laughing out loud at something he says instead of scowling, or shaking my head and saying 'oh, Pete' even almost affectionately. Especially since with Panic! fandom, its hard to stay away from him, particularly in fic. But I think that really I'm gonna stay away from Fall Out Boy fandom for the time being, because even though I like some of their music, that's just a whole, huge new thing I'd have to try and keep track of. Not to mention that it goes against some principals that I've held for a very long time. Telling my hippie, Country Joe and the Fish-lovin', global warming-stopping friends that I like Panic! at the Disco is proving it be difficult enough. Announcing a new love of Fall Out Boy? I'd probably be disowned. *is ashamed of being ashamed*

Wow, I really did a great job, there. /SARCASM. I sounded like such a douche. And I really like Ashlee now, I don't know what that was about. Fair warning to everyone else; the slope, it's slippery.

a few things, sir!

p!atd- brendon/jon showdown
1. Patrick Stump is really hot, actually. See him? Singing all confidently and stomping and guh.

2. Joss Whedon writes an open letter to the owners on the Terminator franchise. And it's hilarious.

3. Lindsey just informed me that a Texas Mickey is actually called a "Maritime Mickey" and is only sold in the Atlantic Canadian provinces. What the fuck, world? Are the rest of you insane? WHO DOESN'T LOVE BUYING TEXAS MICKEYS? What do you guys buy, like. Quarts? Psssshhh.
fob- I will never believe in Patrick aga
Hey cats, I had a Fall Out Boy last night. But even (surprisingly? Unsurprisingly?) more importantly, I had Cobras. And they were grood (not a typo). Also, they managed to convert two totally unsuspecting non-believers (I'm not talking about me, obviously!). It happens! Chatted with Suarez a bit, because yeah, I'm a fangirl, let's face it. I'm a subtle one, at least, and not a creepy one, but one nonetheless.

The most hilarity was brought on, though, when the dude from Hey Monday, I dunno which one or whathaveyou, came out in front of the barrier between bands to sign some autographs for some girls. Security wouldn't let him back in because they thought he had crowd-surfed over the barrier and he didn't have any pass or ID. He kept insisting that he was int he band that had just played and motioning wildly towards the stage, but it honestly took them about twenty minutes to let him in. At least he laughed about it.

In the Fall Out Boy department, Saturday was hands down my favorite tune and I liked Patrick's everything.

Dear Trace Cyrus: be less creepy please. PS: stop rapping?
fob- welcome it's here
I forgot to mention that me and the girls have tickets to the Fall Out Boy show in Lowell, Mass for April 28th. Very exciting news, because of COBRAS. Is it weird that sometimes I'm more excited to see the Cobra kids than the kings of awesome?

So for the last, well, almost a year, I've had no money in my bank account. But alas, the inevitable has started to happen. Since I am in possession of a small amount of money from my job at sea and subsequently deposited that money into the bank, the government has started taking it from me. Oh well, welcome home from the sea, welcome back to reality, Virginia.

In music news, I'm picking things back up again, getting some shows organized with the promoter and such. We're opening for a band called the Watermen (http://www.watermen.ca/), who I've actually never heard. I don't know anything about them, but my little brother saw them and actually said they weren't very good. I'm reserving judgement for myself, but Max usually has solid taste. Also, I'm working on some new songs, both for my band and my solo stuff. Max and I have been experimenting with a little project called "Under for Tea", which requires writing some songs, so I'll keep you updated on that.

In the meantime, if you missed the demo half a year ago when I posted it, you can listen or download it:

fob- welcome it's here
I finally picked up Folie a Deux today, and obviously since I like Fall Out Boy, I like it. See, here's the thing. If you're a fan who's hated everything apres Take This to Your Grave, or even just hated Infinity, then yeah, you're gonna hate this new album. But if you're the kind of person who loved Infinity, I don't see how you could not like this one.

I love this one. I am, I am happy to say, unashamed about my love of Fall Out Boy's music. In all it's wonderfully melodic and produced glory. I love love love it.

C'est tout.
