Singin'- you were meant for me
I had a most pleasant television experience this morning. I turned on the tv, and a movie was playing on one of the old movie channels. It looked like it was from the fifties or so. Anyways, as I sat there watching it, I thought to myself what I always think to myself while watching movies like this: this movie would be infinitely better with the addition of Gene Kelly.

And, I kid you not, five minutes later, Gene Kelly jumped out of the closet. I don't think I've ever giggled more in my life.

Afterwards, looking it up on imdb told me that it was Du Barry Was a Lady from 1943. It was a musical, and it was cute and funny, and I loved it.

That channel has another Gene Kelly movie on at 11, The Devil Makes Three, but I'm not sure if I'm gonna watch it. Apparently, its one of the roles that Gene used to show people that he wasn't just a "showman", that he was an actor. He supposedly does a good job, but I dunno, I really dig Gene's dancing.

I shall now amuse you with Gene Kelly clips:

1. The infamous 'Singing in the Rain' clip. In some respects, it doesn't get much better, but in many ways it does. GENE!

2. Gene and Fred Astaire from 'Ziegfeld Follies', ha. I love it, because see? GENE IS AS GOOD OR BETTER. But Fred totally burns Gene in this, because Gene's all like, OMG FRED ASTAIRE, and Fred's like, sorry, who are you? I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH. ♥

3. Here's one from Anchors Aweigh, and I dig this one, because Frank Sinatra and Gene both sing AND dance. Oh, man. LOVE.

4. Gene and Julie Andrews play a really funny tapping game. And then, they sing Supercala. Hee.

5. 'Bye Bye Booze', Gene with Dean Martin (which really, is why I added this). They're older. Gene dances. :P

6. Stewie from Family Guy dances with Gene (dubbed into his famous scene from 'Anchors Aweigh').
